Welcome! If you’ve made it this far I’m assuming you want to learn how to cook, or learn how to cook better. Lucky for you my not-so-professional opinion is here to guide you through the best food journey of your life.
Whether or not you have experience cooking, don’t worry. This blog is open to anyone and everyone that loves to eat & wants to cook. Especially for those who want to learn more about Asian cuisine! If you’re feeling intimidated, keep in mind that one of the first things that I ever tried to cook was pasta that was just noodles with canned tomato sauce and onions. Spoiler: It was disgusting and I ate it anyway.
“Do I need talent to cook?”
I get a lot of people coming up to me saying things like, “I wish I could cook but I’m just not good at it,” or “I need your talent to cook!” You 100% absolutely positively do not need talent or experience to cook a good meal. Those things help tremendously, but having neither doesn’t bar you from being able to make something a little better than minute rice and eggs. So, for all those out there saying that ‘they don’t have what it takes’, the only thing you need to is a hungry belly and the most basic ability to complete tasks.
“Okay, what do I make then?”
Honestly cook whatever you want, there are so many resources out there for you to begin your journey. Want to make teriyaki chicken? Baked salmon with crispy skin? Beef and broccoli? Pasta? Stir-fry? Fried rice? Noodles? You’ll probably find recipes for all those here at some point. However, keep in mind that there are also SO many different and unique recipes online. I would love if you stuck around, but if my blog is not your cup of tea, go look at all the other amazing food blogs out there!
“Who are you, anyway?”
My name is Izzy. I started IzzyPreps on Instagram in 2017 when I discovered the art of meal prep. Since then, I’ve rebranded and changed my blog name to MindFull of Cooking, as I’m now more focused on dismantling diet culture norms and promoting the joy of cooking.
If you’re interested in learning more about me, you can head on over to the About section! Otherwise, go check out the recipes! Here’s a few that are on here that people really seem to like:

Sustainability Rants
If you’re interested in sustainability and reducing food waste, please check out my blog where I talk about these subjects in my Leave No Leftovers series! I’ll also talk about other topics that I have strong opinions about such as diet culture & body image, the fitness industry, etc.
